EV Manufacturer Arrival Announces High Voltage Battery Module Assembly Plant in North Carolina

Arrival's new facility will create 150 jobs and invest $11.5 million

UK-headquartered EV manufacturer, Arrival (NASDAQ: ARVL), announced its plans to invest $11.5 million to establish a new high voltage battery module (HVBM) assembly plant in Charlotte, North Carolina. The assembly plant will bring 150 jobs and service Arrival’s two recently announced microfactories in Rock Hill, South Carolina and Charlotte, North Carolina.

The announcement comes a few days after Arrival announced its collaboration agreement with Li-Cycle, a leading lithium-ion battery recycler in North America, to create a closed-loop, sustainable EV battery supply chain in the U.S. and Europe. The HVBM assembly plant will play a key role in fulfilling this goal by allowing Arrival to supply, assemble and recycle its own battery modules used in their electric bus and van platforms. Arrival’s unique plug-and-play model allows customers to configure their battery requirements, allowing for scalability, upgradability and easy repair and maintenance in the future.
